Sally* contacted me after receiving an unexpected redundancy notice. A meeting had been scheduled for two days time to discuss her package. Sally was particularly concerned as the redundancy was only a month prior to Christmas and she knew that it would be hard to find a new role until the market picked up in February. She wanted to get the best deal possible for her redundancy but was concerned that she was so stressed she would “muck things up”.
We worked through a structured negotiation preparation together helping her gain clarity about her position and possible options. She was still concerned that her emotions would get the better of her in the meeting so she sought my assistance as a spokesperson and support in that meeting.

Dillon* was a 50% shareholder in a business that had been running for around 4 years. Although his co-owner, James*, was a long-time friend, they had very different views of where the business should be headed. Tension had been growing, conversations weren't being had and the business relationship was now impacting of business results. Dillon approached me to mediate between him and James. James refused the idea and Dillon received a letter from James' solicitor. I worked with Dillon to look at the situation and work out what was really important in any outcome. I assisted him in face-to-face negotiation and email negotiations until a suitable business split was arranged. Once a heads of agreement was entered into, I handed over to Dillon's lawyers to document the agreement.
Dillon got an outcome that worked for him and that cost him a lot less than an extended legal battle in terms of both money, time and stress.
